Account Deletion
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Signed-in Essyntia members can permanently delete their account from the product. This page explains the current process and its limits.
Delete from Settings
Sign in, open Settings, go to Account, and choose Delete account. Review the summary, continue, and type DELETE exactly. The action is not one-click and cannot be undone after it succeeds.
What is deleted
The deletion service removes the live Supabase Auth identity after associated storage and database cleanup completes.
- Profile, preferences, interests, evaluations, progression, and account/device key records
- Posts, comments, replies, reactions, reasoned responses, notifications, and first-party activity linked to the account
- Direct-message rows sent by the account and the account’s conversation participation
- Encrypted attachment metadata uploaded by the account, with ciphertext object keys queued for storage deletion
- Profile and post image objects when provider ownership can be verified safely
- Post videos and their poster frames, including unpublished uploads, and the accounts you blocked
Shared and retained data
Other participants' direct-message records and independent content are retained. Comments or replies attached to a post deleted with the departing account may disappear with that thread. Groups created by the departing account are kept and the creator reference is cleared. Reports and moderation records about the account's content are kept, with a minimal copy of the reported content, accessible only to the moderation team. Some provider backups, security records or records required by legal obligations may be retained until their applicable retention period ends.
Image ownership safety
Essyntia will not delete an image object unless it can prove that the object belongs to the deleting account. An older unattributed image that is still referenced can block automatic deletion rather than risk deleting another member’s image; unreferenced legacy objects may require support cleanup.
If you cannot sign in or deletion is blocked
Write to privacy@essyntia.com. Include the account email or username and a short description of the problem. Do not send your password or message encryption keys. If a child-safety review of the account's content is open, deletion cannot be completed until it ends.
